Canazei: sports, traditions and nightlife

Canazei, a charming town in the Val di Fassa, in the province of Trento, is a well-known tourist destination in the area which is set, like a pearl, between the Dolomites of Marmolada, the Sella Group and the Sassolungo.

During the summer there are numerous events of all kinds, such as the world championship of high altitude running, called Dolomiti Skyrace; the opening of the barns for the Te Anter I Tobiè event, in order to introduce tourists to the trades of the past and the ways in which they were practiced; there Gran Festa d’Istà, which takes place at the end of the summer and celebrates the meeting between all the Ladin people present in the area.

To complete the knowledge of the local culture, it is advisable to visit the markets where you can buy typical local products, such as milk, yoghurt, cheeses, salami and polenta, but also Krapfen, speck and salted meat from Trentino and to frequent the taverns and the huts that offer menus prepared exclusively with products from the area.
