Bellamonte

Bellamonte is a fraction of the municipality of Predazzo, considered one of the most fascinating places in the entire Val di Fiemme.

The town is in fact located at 1373 meters above sea level and, thanks to the wonderful view ensured by the Pale di San Martino and the Lagorai massif, it guarantees one of the most beautiful mountain views available in the whole Trentino environment. Woods and green grasslands follow one another suggestively, framing the typical stone huts and dark trunks.

In winter, Bellamonte is a well-known tourist center because of the modern ski lifts it is equipped with, as well as for the slopes provided by the adjacent Bellamonte ski area. Alpe di Lusia; there is also a popular ring for the cross-country skiing, as well as very simple slopes suitable for beginners and families.

The summer period makes Bellamonte a magnificent natural oasis, ideal for stays immersed in mountain relaxation and for excursions to the enchanting surrounding nature.
In fact, in the surroundings there is the Paneveggio Natural Park, as well as beautiful mountain peaks such as the Pale di San Martino and the Colbricon.

Typical of the place is the treatment of hay, deposited in the characteristic wooden buildings that dot the surrounding pastures; for this activity, the place was formerly called “the hay mounts” and the haymaking was treated like a grape harvest.

In the area there is also the artificial lake of Fortebuso, open to sport fishing, as well as the Forte Dossaccio, a structure dating back to the First World War and directed to the supervision of the nearby mountain passes.
