Forts and Castles

The hand of man has left deep traces in the Trentino area, the first real tangible signs are with the advent of the feudal era and as testimony we have numerous castles, in different states of conservation.

But the buildings from the First World War should not be underestimated either. Real fortifications that made it possible to control the horizon for tens of kilometers. The characteristics have changed over the years but the final purpose was ultimately the same, the protection of a territory, a border, a people. In Trentino it is possible to access most of them, remember the splendid Castel Beseno, a few km north of Rovereto and also visible from the motorway, the majestic Castel Thun, a true symbol of power of the Val di Non and how can we forget the Forte Belvedere Gschwent on the Folgaria plateau?
